a little brighter.

Spark Fridays: Fall and Spring enrichment for homeschoolers featuring integrated arts, nature, movement and theater, cooking, STEM challenges, and more—all in one caring, creative community.

Fridays just got

Inspiring enrichment all in one place.

Rotating seasonal offerings mean fresh experiences all year:

• Nature Study • Cooking • Theater • P.E. & Movement • Handicrafts • Creative Writing • STEM Projects

No need to shuttle all over town.

Every Friday, your child steps into a world of creativity, nature, and hands-on exploration.

One joyful day where:

  • Your child lights up with new projects that spark their interests

  • Friendships form through shared creativity

  • Learning feels like play (but connects with cross-curricular goals including literacy, science, and social studies)

  • You gain an end-of-week break or catch-up day

Perfect for families:

  • Adding enrichment to their homeschool week

  • Checking out the Zoe House experience before committing

  • Seeking creative, hands-on learning their child loves

"I tell my homeschool friends that Zoe Learning House is a 'hidden gem'. It's the perfect balance of meaningful learning and fun all while having the freedom to be outdoors."

What Spark families are saying

"My daughter has always loved to sing and dance! When I saw they were doing a Spark studio of the Lion King, I knew this was perfect! She had so much fun and lit up on stage."

Katlyn

"We were looking for flexible and individualized homeschool options for our two children. The 3-day Hybrid Program was a great fit for one child while the other child thrived with learning at home and doing the 1-day Spark Enrichment Program. We are grateful that Zoe Learning House offers options to meet the specific needs of both our children. There is no other high-quality homeschool program where your child can attend a flexible number of days during the week.

Katherine J.

"It's added peace of mind. I can focus on the academics without feeling like I am short changing the enrichment piece. My children look forward to Spark every week. I feel at ease entrusting the teachers to truly enrich my children's hearts and minds. My children haven't lost their spark but have in fact gained more! Affordable pricing, amazing teachers, and a great bunch of kids!"

Educators who help your child shine

Led by founder Emily Barnitz (M.Ed. Educational Leadership, Teachers College Columbia University), our passionate team brings expertise in project- and nature-based learning, gardening and nutrition, arts integration, team building, and Charlotte Mason education. We partner with families to help each child love to learn and thrive as who they were created by God to be.

The enrichment challenge for homeschoolers

What if one day made it simple?

Right now, getting your child enrichment classes often means:

  • Shuttling between multiple locations for theater here, art there, P.E. somewhere else

  • Piecing together a patchwork of classes that never quite fit together

  • Missing community of consistent peers in creative learning

  • Overwhelm trying to provide everything yourself

You feel confident in your current homeschooling structure and plan. But you know your child needs more than academics alone. They need creative outlets. Time in nature. Peers to create alongside and build friendships with. Voices and experiences beyond what you can provide at home.

Right now, that means shuttling between locations for theater on Mondays, art on Wednesdays, maybe P.E. somewhere on Thursdays. It's exhausting. It's expensive. And it never quite comes together into cohesive learning.

Spark Enrichment Fridays solve this. One day. One beautiful location in Algiers. All the creative, hands-on enrichment your child needs: arts, theater, nature study, cooking, P.E., STEM challenges, gardening, and more. Rotating seasonal offerings (14-week Fall and Spring terms) mean fresh experiences that build on each other.

Your child doesn't just take classes—they create. They perform in theater productions. They grow food and cook it. They explore nature with experienced guides. They make friends who share their creative spirit. And they do it all in a loving Christian environment where character matters as much as creativity.

Whether your family is leaving traditional school, seeking more support for your homeschool journey, or looking for a Christ-centered educational approach that truly honors the whole child, Zoe Learning House offers a joyful path forward. From K-5th grade, we're growing with our students and partnering with families who share our values: that children are created with inherent worth, that wonder belongs in education, and that learning should inspire rather than deplete.

Currently serving K-5th grade families across Greater New Orleans—from Algiers to Uptown, Metairie, Kenner, Laplace, Waggaman, Harvey, and Gretna to Belle Chasse and Chalmette—Zoe Learning House is where students rediscover their love of learning and families looking for an alternative to traditional schooling find the support they've been searching for.

Enrichment that brings learning to life

Nurturing Faith and Christ-Like Character

Learning that comes alive with the light of Christ

Woven throughout our programs is a Charlotte Mason understanding that all of life can honor Christ: "We allow no separation to grow up between the intellectual and spiritual life of children." At Zoe, this means every day includes simple prayers, character formation rooted in our Scripture focus, and an education that celebrates what the Word of God teaches is good, beautiful, and true. Science reveals God's creativity. History shows His faithfulness. Literature explores the human heart. All of it points toward Him. You remain your child's primary spiritual shepherd; we create an environment where all of life—academics included—can honor Christ and display His glory.
