Hybrid academics and enrichment that honor Christ and nurture the whole child.
Program
best of both worlds
Our 3-Day Program combines Hybrid Academy's hybrid academics with our creative Spark Enrichment day—giving your child three days of joyful community learning and creative classes all in one place. You still maintain homeschool flexibility for the remainder of your week, with easy-to-follow Weekly Learning Plans provided to guide your home learning days.

3-Day Program: Hybrid Academy with Spark Enrichment
The Most Complete Hybrid Experience
Joyful, Holistic Learning
1-2 hours outdoors daily. Beautiful literature. Movement breaks. Gardening. Faith formation. Screen-free, hands-on experiences. An approach where academic excellence and childhood wonder both thrive.

Tuesday & Thursday: Experienced Academic Support
Friday: Creative Spark Enrichment
Instead of shuttling to multiple locations for arts, cooking, theater, or nature classes, Friday brings it all together. Rotating seasonal offerings keep learning fresh: such as pottery, gardening, storytelling, and plenty of the play and movement your child will love.

Your child receives tailored instruction in literacy and math at their level, plus family-style learning in science, geography, and nature studies. We provide clear, easy-to-follow home learning plans for the remainder of the week that honor your time and your role as home educator.
Hybrid Learning Benefits:
✓ Academic guidance without losing homeschool freedom
✓ Community academics two days + enrichment one day
✓ Support for home learning days the remainder of the week
✓ Best of structure AND flexibility

"We were looking for flexible and individualized homeschool options for our two children. The 3-day Hybrid Program was a great fit for one child while the other child thrived with learning at home and doing the 1-day Spark Enrichment Program. We are grateful that Zoe Learning House offers options to meet the specific needs of both our children. The learning plan is easy to follow at home and the chosen curriculum is high-quality. There is no other high-quality homeschool program where your child can attend a flexible number of days during the week.
— Katherine J.
"I feel that choosing Zoe Learning House has provided the confidence and support necessary for our homeschool journey to thrive. My daughter has gained a newfound confidence in her social relationships as well as in her academic growth."
— Ashlee S.
Families thriving with hybrid academics
"After homeschooling both of our girls on my own, I became very aware that our girls needed more than I could provide them one on one. They desired more in a learning environment than just my voice every day! Discovering Zoe Learning House was everything our family needed in more ways than one. Mrs. Emily's words have always stuck with me, 'you weren't meant to do all this on your own.' And we're not…"
— Lauren H.
"The moment we knew our child was thriving was when working at home stopped being a struggle. Instead of tears or frustration, we saw confidence, independence, and a willingness to learn."
— Ashley W.

"The school is very accommodating to all the needs we were searching for and then some!"
— Elizabeth M.
Here to support you
Our team meets families where they are—supporting your homeschool journey with expertise in curriculum, small group instruction, and creative enrichment. You lead at home; we partner alongside you.
Led by founder Emily Barnitz (M.Ed., Columbia University, also a former K-12 homeschooler), our passionate team brings expertise in Charlotte Mason education, nature-based learning, gardening and nutrition, personalized tutoring, team building, and arts integration. We partner with families to help each child love to learn and thrive as who they were created by God to be.

You don't have to carry it all alone.
Homeschooling without support often means:
Second-guessing everything. Curriculum choices. Your teaching. Whether you're doing enough. The self-doubt becomes exhausting.
Feeling alone. Your child may crave peers and different voices. You crave adult conversation with people who understand this path.
Missing insight from experienced educators. You want your child to receive tailored instruction in a small group setting—not to replace you, but to partner with you.
No time for enrichment. Arts, theater, nature study—you know they need it, but adding more to your plate feels impossible.
You chose homeschooling for beautiful reasons.
The right support helps those reasons flourish.

Program
You love teaching your children. You value the freedom homeschooling offers. But you also recognize your child needs more voices, more peers, and more academic and enrichment support than you can provide alone. You need a village. That's the hybrid advantage.
At Zoe Learning House, our 3-Day Hybrid Academy with Spark Enrichment gives you the best of both worlds. Tuesday and Thursday, your child receives small group instruction in the morning (1:8 ratio or smaller) in literacy and math, tailored to their level. Afternoons include inspiring lessons drawn from living books on science and geography. Friday's Spark Enrichment adds creative depth with rotating seasonal offerings—arts, theater, cooking, pottery, and more with student showcases. Experienced and caring teachers bring faith, character formation, and academic excellence together. Learning happens from 10am-3pm, with play and outdoor time included (early drop off for is available beginning at 8:30am). When your child comes home, they do not have loads of traditional homework assigned, only occasional classwork to finish to stay on track that is respectful of your family's time. Evenings belong to family dinners, outdoor play, creative pursuits, and rest.
On your home learning days (Monday, Wednesday, Friday), you're not alone. We provide clear, easy-to-follow lesson plans that are meaningful but time-efficient. Personal evaluations ensure the curriculum matches your child's level. Parent trainings answer your questions. You lead the learning, we walk alongside you.
While many schools turn to screens for learning, we've chosen high-quality printed curriculum, living books, hands-on methods, and face-to-face connection. Research shows screens don't enhance academic learning for children—but rich literature, time outside, and meaningful relationships absolutely do.
Whether your family is leaving traditional school, seeking more support for your homeschool journey, or looking for a Christ-centered educational approach that truly honors the whole child, Zoe Learning House offers a joyful path forward. From K-5th grade, we're growing with our students and partnering with families who share our values: that children are created with inherent worth, that wonder belongs in education, and that learning should inspire rather than deplete.
Currently serving K-5th grade families across Greater New Orleans—from Algiers to Uptown, Metairie, Kenner, Laplace, Waggaman, Harvey, and Gretna, to Belle Chasse and Chalmette—Zoe Learning House is where students rediscover their love of learning and families looking for an alternative to traditional schooling find the support they've been searching for.
Hybrid learning that honors your family

Nurturing Faith and Christ-Like Character

Learning that comes alive with the light of Christ

Woven throughout our programs is a Charlotte Mason understanding that all of life can honor Christ: "We allow no separation to grow up between the intellectual and spiritual life of children." At Zoe, this means every day includes simple prayers, character formation rooted in our Scripture focus, and an education that celebrates what the Word of God teaches is good, beautiful, and true. Science reveals God's creativity. History shows His faithfulness. Literature explores the human heart. All of it points toward Him. You remain your child's primary spiritual shepherd; we create an environment where all of life—academics included—can honor Christ and display His glory.
