You choose social studies curriculum and literature for home days (great suggestions provided).
You maintain the freedom that drew you to homeschooling—time to instill values, follow curiosity, and enjoy the family rhythms of home.
1-2 hours outdoors daily. Beautiful literature. Movement breaks. Gardening. Faith formation. Screen-free, hands-on experiences. An approach where academic excellence and childhood wonder both thrive.

"We moved last year and were homeschooling and part of a co-op before moving. Our child did not have a positive experience in traditional school and we needed a good middle ground that was faith based. The hybrid model was a great option for us and has been perfect for our son."
— Jake
"I feel that choosing Zoe Learning House has provided the confidence and support necessary for our homeschool journey to thrive. My daughter has gained a newfound confidence in her social relationships as well as in her academic growth."
— Ashlee S.
Homeschool families thriving with support
"After homeschooling both of our girls on my own, I became very aware that our girls needed more than I could provide them one on one. They desired more in a learning environment than just my voice every day! Discovering Zoe Learning House was everything our family needed in more ways than one. Mrs. Emily's words have always stuck with me, 'you weren't meant to do all this on your own.' And we're not…"
— Lauren H.

"What set Zoe Learning House apart was the hybrid model. It gave our child the space to grow at his own pace, build confidence academically and socially, and rediscover his love of learning without the pressure of a traditional school setting.
— Ashley W.
"My son loved doing homeschool but we were missing the social element to help his personality thrive. His joy for reading and learning has been strong and not felt overwhelming or like a burden to him. Zoe Learning House is exactly what our family needed and had been specifically praying for!"
— Kathryn E.
Here to walk alongside you
Our team meets families where they are—supporting your homeschool journey with expertise in curriculum, small group instruction, and creative enrichment. You lead at home; we partner alongside you.
Led by founder Emily Barnitz (M.Ed., Columbia University, also a former K-12 homeschooler), our passionate team brings expertise in Charlotte Mason education, nature-based learning, gardening and nutrition, personalized tutoring, team building, and arts integration. We partner with families to help each child love to learn and thrive as who they were created by God to be.

You're capable. But you don't have to be everything.
Without the right support, even the most dedicated homeschool families face:
Curriculum overwhelm. Endless options. Conflicting advice. Self-doubt about whether you're choosing "the right" thing—especially in literacy and math.
Feeling alone. Both you and your child missing the community, encouragement, and friendship this journey needs.
Inconsistency. Without routine and consistency, essential skills don't sharpen the way they could. Progress feels unclear.
Burnout. The weight of being everything—teacher, parent, curriculum planner, evaluator—can often become too heavy to carry alone.

You chose homeschooling for beautiful reasons.
We are here to help those reasons flourish.

2-Day
Tuesday and Thursday in 2026-2027
10:00-3:00
Program

You chose to homeschool because you believe in your child. You want to instill values, protect childhood, and lead your child's education. Those are beautiful, worthy reasons—and they don't have to mean doing it completely alone.
Zoe Learning House's 2-Day Hybrid Academy is designed for families like yours who want to keep homeschooling while gaining the structure, insight, and community this journey needs. You're not failing if you need support. You're wise in listening to your family's needs.
Community Learning Days happen Tuesdays and Thursdays from 10:00-3:00. Mornings are dedicated to literacy and math small group instruction, tailored to your child's level. Our teachers—experienced in Charlotte Mason and hands-on methods—assess where your child is and teach at their instructional level, that sweet spot where learning flows without frustration or boredom. Afternoons, we cover a full science and geography curriculum with beautiful art projects, completely taking these subjects off your plate.
Home Learning Days are Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays. You continue teaching literacy and math at home, but you're not alone. We provide Weekly Learning Plans with tailored home lessons that are clear and easy-to-follow. After your child's personal evaluation, you receive a customized curriculum guide. You choose your social studies curriculum and literature for home days—we provide excellent suggestions, but the choice is yours.
Between Community Learning Days and Home Learning Days, Zoe's Hybrid Academy supports a full K-5th curriculum in Literacy, Math, Science, Geography, and Social Studies and Literature. The freedom and flexibility that drew you to homeschooling? You keep it. Time to follow rabbit trails, bake together, linger over questions, explore outside? Still yours.
Consistency and routine matter deeply, especially in literacy and numeracy. Having experienced teachers who know your child—who see their growth, provide insight you can trust, and create joyful learning experiences—makes all the difference. Your child gains peers learning alongside them twice a week in a loving, Christian environment where every child is known and valued. You gain friends who understand this path, parent trainings that answer your questions, and the confidence that comes from true partnership.
Whether your family is leaving traditional school, seeking more support for your homeschool journey, or looking for a Christ-centered educational approach that truly honors the whole child, Zoe Learning House offers a joyful path forward. From K-5th grade, we're growing with our students and partnering with families who share our values: that children are created with inherent worth, that wonder belongs in education, and that learning should inspire rather than deplete.
Currently serving K-5th grade families across Greater New Orleans—from Algiers to Uptown, Metairie, Kenner, Laplace, Waggaman, Harvey, and Gretna, to Belle Chasse and Chalmette—Zoe Learning House is where students rediscover their love of learning and families looking for an alternative to traditional schooling find the support they've been searching for.
Partnership, not replacement

Nurturing Faith and Christ-Like Character

Learning that comes alive with the light of Christ

Woven throughout our programs is a Charlotte Mason understanding that all of life can honor Christ: "We allow no separation to grow up between the intellectual and spiritual life of children." At Zoe, this means every day includes simple prayers, character formation rooted in our Scripture focus, and an education that celebrates what the Word of God teaches is good, beautiful, and true. Science reveals God's creativity. History shows His faithfulness. Literature explores the human heart. All of it points toward Him. You remain your child's primary spiritual shepherd; we create an environment where all of life—academics included—can honor Christ and display His glory.
